WooCommerce3.9

Hello Friends, I just received an email from Woocommerce regarding their new version released. So I thought you guys also know that WooCommerce Released 3.9 in 2020. So friends please read the article till the end and share your experience.

The year 2020, a new decade started and January month almost complete right in front of the eyes. And before January end, WooCommerce released version3.9 for 2020 with minor updates. I want to say that, please upgrade your installed Woocommerce version with the latest one but before upgrading please take a backup(Use ManageWP) of your website.

So today I’m writing this article to let you guys know that what updates WooCommerce released in version3.9. So let’s start.

#1 WooCommerce Blocks

WooCommerce 3.9 ships with WooCommerce Blocks 2.5.11, which includes a brand-new All Products block with filtering and pagination, among other improvements.

#2 MaxMind Geolocation Integration

WooCommerce 2.3, which WooCommerce released in February 2015, was the first version to integrate the MaxMind Geolocation database. WooCommerce uses the MaxMind GeoLite2 database behind the scenes to determine a customer’s country, a fact many store owners might not have been aware of.

MaxMind now requires all users to approve its end-user license agreement (EULA) in order to download the GeoLite2 database. As a result, WooCommerce had to make some changes too — to keep this feature working in your store, you’ll now need a MaxMind license key. WooCommerce 3.9 includes MaxMind in the Integrations tab, where you can enter your key and learn more about this feature.

#3 WordPress and PHP Minimum Requirements

Starting with WooCommerce 3.9, stores now need to use WordPress 5.0 and PHP 7.0 (or later versions). WooCommerce has already added nudges to upgrade WordPress and PHP versions in WooCommerce 3.8 and will continue to evaluate the new minimum requirements with each release of WooCommerce. Stores running earlier versions than PHP 7.0 and WordPress 5.0 will not be able to update to WooCommerce 3.9.

#4 Additional Enhancements

  • WooCommerce added a new Show button for password fields, similar to the one WordPress core introduced in version 5.3.
  • This version introduces a Payment Gateway API to support pay buttons, which facilitates a better button setup and customization experience.

NOTE: WooCommerce Released 3.9 so they recommend to test 3.9 on a staging site before upgrading your live site. This version runs a minor database update, but only if you’ve enabled geolocation on your store before upgrading to 3.9.

So friends, if this article really helpful for you then please share your thought and your experience once WooCommerce3.9 upgrade in below comment box and share as well. Keep learning.
