Jeff Garlin's character Murray in "Goldbergs" dies in season 10
When the 10th season of "The Goldbergs" starts on ABC next month, the character played by Jeff Garlin will be dead.
Garlin quit The Goldbergs in December after complaints that he participated in verbal and physical misbehavior. Season 9 dealt with Garlin's absence, but Season 10 begins after Murray's death.
He was accused of behaving in a rude manner and using inappropriate language to women. Garlin reportedly touched or hugged cast members regardless of their comfort.
In December 2021, Vanity Fair reported that Garlin had a pattern of verbal and physical behavior behind the scenes of "The Goldbergs" that made some of his coworkers feel uncomfortable.
Garlin considered his behaviour on set "silliness" and said he was a "loose canon." He said that he and Sony Pictures Television had "different opinions" about the HR investigation.
"I make mistakes," But the point of my comedy is to make people feel better," Garlin said. "Why would I ever want to hurt someone just to make myself laugh? That's being mean. That's just not right."
"I did not want to return. I'd had enough of it. Also, the whole HR thing of the past few years made me very angry. I love the crew, though. Everyone I work with is great." Garlin said.
The 60-year-old "Curb Your Enthusiasm" star also told Vanity Fair that his exit from Goldbergs was mutually agreed by him and Sony. In other words, he wasn't fired from the show.
The 10th season of "The Goldbergs," which spotlights Wendi McLendon-Covey, Sean Giambrone, Hayley Orrantia, Sam Lerner, and Troy Gentile, begins on Sept. 21 on ABC.
