Britney Spears's first release in six years, "Hold Me Closer," features a duet with Elton John.
The Princess of Pop is back !
Britney Spears made her musical return on Friday with the release of "Hold Me Closer," a collaboration with Elton John, after a six-year absence.
The EDM remix of John's 1971 smash "Tiny Dancer" is Spears' first new release since she was liberated from a 13-year conservatorship last November.
Last year, Spears said that the conservatory "killed my dreams" and made her stop making music and performing. "Glory," her most recent album, came out in 2016.
Before "Hold Me Closer" came out, Spears tweeted that she's learning "every day is a clean slate to try to be a better person and do what makes me happy."
Britney herself is among those celebrating the success of her return to music, previously admitting she was ‘overwhelmed’ by the response.
Elton also opened up about working with the former teen idol as she gets to grips with life after the 13-year conservatorship, saying he and his team had been ‘holding her hand’ all the way through.
But, for now, fans are more than happy to just have new music from the everytime legend.
